Graham Farish Split Chassis Double Digihat DCC Conversion Method

Mistakes may damage your locomotive, controller or other accessories. Use a multimeter to make absolutely sure you have completely isolated the motor from the track before testing. Always use the Programming Track for testing. Our guides are provided for reference only, and you proceed entirely at your own risk. Unsure about something - try our DCC Conversion Service instead.

Older Graham Farish diesel and electric models manufactured in the mid nineties have a modern split-chassis arrangement, but still use brass bushes to provide power from the chassis to the motor. Similarly to the steam locos, when converting to DCC, these brass bushes need isolating from the metal chassis. This is done using two plastic digihats, one for each side of the chassis.
